Ingredients For the dough: • 3 cups flour . • 2 tablespoons butter. • One egg. • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla. • A pinch of salt. • 2 tablespoons pure cocoa. • One glass warm water. For the syrup:
For the filling: • 1 cup chopped pistachios. • 1 cup chopped walnuts. • 2 tablespoons sugar. • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom. • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. • 1 cup butter. Preparation • Add the flour, vanilla, and a little salt and stir well. Then gradually add the egg and water, mixing in a mixer or by hand, until you get a consistent dough. Let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes. • Meanwhile, prepare the filling by mixing the pistachios, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. • Cut the dough into equal parts, roll out each piece, place it on the baking sheet, brush it with butter, and do the same with half of the dough. Then, distribute the entire filling over the dough and continue adding the other half of the dough, brushing it with butter. • Cut the baklava. Its typical shape is a diamond, but you can cut it into any shape and size you like. When cutting, make sure the knife cuts through all the layers of dough. • Preheat the oven to approximately 180°C and bake the baklava for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. • After removing the baklava from the oven, drizzle with the syrup and even decorate with pistachios or coconut. Let it cool. Tip: If you prefer, you can buy ready-made filo pastry and follow the same steps, although you won't be able to make chocolate filo pastry this way. |
