2 beaten eggs ¾ cup milk or substitute or water 1 cup of oatmeal ¼ cup finely chopped onion 2 cloves of garlic, minced 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley 1 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon dried basil ½ teaspoon of oregan ⅛ teaspoon black pepper 1½ ground beef ½ cup tomato sauce 4 tablespoons of brown sugar 2 teaspoons dry mustard
Procedure: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine the eggs and milk; add the oats, onion, garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add the ground beef; mix lightly. Arrange the meat in an 8x4x2-inch pudding pan. Bake for 1 to 1 hour and 20 minutes or until the internal temperature registers 160 degrees. Remove the fat with a spoon. In a bowl, combine the tomato sauce, sugar, and mustard; spread over the meat. Bake for 10 more minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting into eight slices.
