HOMEMADE MEATLOAF

Ingredients : Servings: 8


  • 2 beaten eggs

  • ¾ cup milk or substitute or water

  • 1 cup of oatmeal

  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

  • ½ teaspoon of oregan

  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1½ ground beef

  • ½ cup tomato sauce

  • 4 tablespoons of brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard


Procedure:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • In a medium bowl, combine the eggs and milk; add the oats, onion, garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  • Add the ground beef; mix lightly.

  • Arrange the meat in an 8x4x2-inch pudding pan.

  • Bake for 1 to 1 hour and 20 minutes or until the internal temperature registers 160 degrees.

  • Remove the fat with a spoon.

  • In a bowl, combine the tomato sauce, sugar, and mustard; spread over the meat. Bake for 10 more minutes.

  • Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting into eight slices.
